1.     Amendment of Patent

The Tanzanian Patent Law allowsamendment of patent application provided that the amendment shall not go beyonddisclosure in the initial application.

This right of amendment  is available up to the time when theapplication is in order for grant.

2.     Divisional of Application

The applicant is allowed to madean application to divide the application into one or more applications providedthat each divisional application shall not go beyond the disclosure in theinitial application

This application is to be made atany time up to the time when the applications from which a divisionalapplications is derived is in order for grant. The priority documents and anyrequired translations thereof that have been submitted to the Registrar inrespect of the application from which one or more divisional applications arederived shall be considered as having been submitted also in respect of alldivisional applications.
